- This is the answer to the problem of connectong a apple single spin drive to a
- sici bus and the cd rom not being enabled..
-
- AS FOLLOWS........
-
-
- I had exactly the same problem but a nice man at GVP solved it for me
- when there were nice men at gvp to solve things for you.
-
- Just connect the CD Rom externally, do nto use terminators or
- anything. Then persuade the machine to boot, a tricky one this. I found
- that if I turned on the CD ROM first left it for 10 seconds or so and
- then turned on the Amiga this seems to work, if the Amiga locks up then
- try Ctrl-A-A as sometimes this unlocks it.
-
- Presuming you've persuaded the Amiga to boot and you are now looking at
- the Workbench you need the Program "GVPScsiCtrl" which should have come
- with your Harddrive. Enter Shell and run the aforementioned program thus:
-
- GVPScsictrl <scsi no of the CD rom here> -dcoff
-
- don't ask me what it does it just works....
-
- Now mount the CD rom as you would expect to and it should, hopefully,
- work fine. Well mine did at any rate and my set up was identical.
-
- hope this has been of help.
